Community Broadcasters: Programs made by people who love radio for people who love listening to radio.
Community Broadcasters stems from the original idea of Rob Polland. Together he and Al Smart have set up this web site as a focus for such activities. We are a group of like minded, enthusiastic radio program makers who have been broadcasting on our local hospital radio station, for quite a number of years. As well as broadcasting from the radio station itself, we are quite adept at producing high quality programs, in terms of both sound quality and content, from home. It is our aim to offer these programs to much wider audiences. Rest assured that all our programs are suitable for family listening. The programs are offered to hospital, or community stations, on a free of charge basis, and it is assumed that all licenses and copyright clearances have been obtained by such stations, before the material is broadcast.
The individual shows are offered as notionally 1 hour self contained units with a duration of 56 minutes ± 2 seconds. This would allow station identification and/or news bulletins to be accommodated in your broadcasting schedule. Format is .mp3 with fixed bit rate, 64kbs, stereo. Ideally, the programs will be provided by electronic download, which if you have a broadband connection will be a few minutes at worst. However, distribution of bulk recordings is available on CD.
Browse around these pages for details of the presenters and the programs on offer. If you are looking for something not in the portfolio, then email us, and let us see what we can offer. There is a simple form to use to make the initial request.
